Disruptive Versus Aggressive Drying Methods

When going onto a Jobsite with water damage, our team members begin by assessing the damage to then determine the drying method needed for the situation. These drying methods can be broken down into disruptive and aggressive drying. 

Disruptive drying is meant for a more contaminated and damaged property. This is where replacing materials would be less expensive than restoration. This method involves removing wet items, injecting air to speed up drying. In short, repairs will have to be done after the structure has dried. This requires the removal of materials such as flood cuts.

The aggressive drying method is for a less contaminated and less damaged job site. This is where restoration is more cost-efficient for the job at hand. This method involves leaving wet materials in the structure and drying them in place using direct airflow.
